This year as the boyfriend and I talked about what we wanted I decided on a new camera. Not a small compact one but a more advanced point and shoot. We took a trip to Best Buy this past weekend and after looking at their options and doing my own research on-line I decided on a Canon Powershot 12.1 Megapixel Digital Camera! From what I already know Canon's are fantastic camera's so I am super excited to be receiving this as a gift (hopefully lol )! It's pretty cute, don't ya think?!
Another item we want to invest in is a new computer! My college Dell crapped out about 2 years ago so we have been using the boyfriend's laptop from his college days. It is reaching the 6 year mark soon and we are both concerned that it might crash on us at anytime now! Considering I am still in school and have 1 more semester left I CAN NOT afford to deal with a crashing computer!
While walking around Best Buy we decided to check out their computer selection. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get a MAC however the boyfriend is not a fan of them what-so-ever, so that option is completely out! Next step was to decide on whether we wanted another laptop or desk top. We both came to the conclusion that a desk top would be best. We could keep the current laptop we have until it eventually dies on us and use it for other things (i.e. class, traveling, and sitting in the living room!).
On to the second step - what kind of desk top? We ran across the All-In-One touch screen computers, in which we totally fell in love with! They have huge monitors, everything is wireless, they have no tower, and the touch screen is WAAAAY cool. There were two different computers available, the HP and then one by Gateway. The boyfriend nor I are computer savvy, what-so-ever, so we had to rely on the expertise of the Best Buy guys. While he explained everything to us comparing both computers I was comparing prices! The Gateway was a HUGE steal in my opinion! The speed may be slightly slower than the HP but it was not by much, however I don't know anything about either brand of computer and how well they perform, so I really can't say if that would be an issue or not. We don't use the computer for off the wall crazy things. Mainly just surfing the web, writing papers, and blogging :) so speed may not be much of a problem. I plan on doing some more research and then making a decision.
Surely, our last step will be purchasing the computer sometime after Christmas when we have all of our finances in line! The only real problem after that will be that we will need a bigger office desk to hold the new computer! Luckily I found an office set by Canopy Furniture on WalMart.com! Hopefully that can be a Christmas gift to ourselves as well! :)
