Seriously, I know I say this every week, but I really really really need time to slow down! How are we already at the end of May?! I feel like we were just celebrating New Years 2 weeks ago and that I got married a month ago! And now I'll be celebrating my first year of marriage in 12 days! Holy Heck!
Here I am, back to give an update on another month's of mini goals! Ha I can't help but chuckle at how much of a disaster this month was as far as trying to accomplish anything! I swear on everything I believe in that I will eventually follow through with EVERYTHING on these lists that I post, which means I will keep writing them EVERY month! Want the update? Here ya go:
1. Write 1 handwritten note to someone once a week. FAIL ~ well sort of. I wrote and mailed one! That's better than none right??
2. Run at least 1 of the 5 mornings that I take Reef for a walk. EPIC FAIL. Plain and simple I hate running. I'd rather power walk. Maybe I should start even smaller and power walk more and work my way up to running?! How flipping lazy of me!
3. Take after dinner walks at least twice a week with Reef and Hubby. FAIL. We did it once and once is not enough!
4. Purchase bed frame and bed skirt as well as king size pillows for new bed - Also decide on headboard. Semi-Fail. I bought the dern pillows but unfortunately nothing else!
5. Replace blinds in 2nd guest room. hahahaha FAIL FAIL FAIL. I haven't even stepped foot in that room since we moved the old mattress in there! I can't get around ANYTHING!
6. Begin teaching myself how to sew. WIN WIN WIN. My mom gave me a sewing machine and lots of sewing necessities at the beginning of the month. She also taught me one Sunday afternoon how to thread the machine and use a bobbit and all the little tricks of the trade . I even made a little pillow for Baby Reef as seen here.
7. Throw a fabulous Mother's Day Brunch. HOMERUN WIN! This went perfectly and everyone had a wonderful time!! I was extremely happy with how it all came together and how it turned out! Check it out here if you missed it!
8. Clean an organize the Dining Room and Office. Another HOMERUN! This had to be done for the brunch and has pretty much stayed that way since! The office desk could use a bit more organization but I need to find baskets and such for the shelves before I can totally dive into that!
9. Apply to at least 5 new career positions for the month. EPIC FAIL. I did not even apply to one. I blame that on not being able to find anything I felt I was "qualified" for. Either I was too qualified or I need more experience. Nothing in the good ole middle! Talk about frustrating. I did however start looking in other areas, like Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; and Charleston, SC. Can't hurt to look outside of our area right?!
10. Take my wedding set to be redipped and soldered together. Last FAIL of the list. I'm not sure how I am ever going to get this done when I have such a hard time parting with my sparkles!!!!
Jeesh, looking at this list has me depressed!! I hope you all were way more motivated this month than I was! Obviously many of these will be moving on to next month's goals. I may drop a few and add some different goals. Possibly to shake it up a bit and get me motivated?! In the mean time I'm going to try not to beat myself up too bad. In my own defense we were pretty busy this month AND the weather for half of the time didn't cooperate for a lot of outdoor activity or shopping {I really cant stand being out in the yuck}. Hope you loves did a lot better than I did!!
Now on to what you really want to know about and why you are reading today's post ~ wink wink!
Yesterday my blog was extremely close to having 50 followers! I thought bribing would get us there, so I tweeted to my bloggy friends about a give-a-way I was going to do once I hit 50 followers! Well they retweeted, and others retweeted, and low and behold I wake up this morning with 51 blog followers!! Hehe you gals must really love Target and winning stuff!
So... How does a $50.00 gift card to Target sound?! I was thinking, for my first give-away, I'd do something easy, like the gift card! Once I get all my details together and figure out HOW to have you followers enter and HOW I'm going to randomly pick someone {I'm still new to all this blog techno random picker stuff} I'll give you all the scoop {leaning towards tomorrow} on what you need or don't need to do! hehe! Please feel free to keep spreading the word!
Y'all have been awesome these last few months and I love reading your comments and thoughts! They really make my day and I love that I'm making new friends all over the place!!! I really don't know if y'all realize how much your kindness means to me already!!
So go out, spread the world, and let me get rid of this gift card before I go spend it on myself!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!
I love having Monday's off because it makes the work week even shorter! I mean look ~ we are already at Wednesday!! A few more days and it's the weekend once more!! Here is what I'm loving today!
1. Our spread in the Suffolk Living Magazine! I think the photo turned out fabulously!!! The hubby begs to differ, but I think he looks beyond handsome! Seeing it in person was really strange! I mean that's us! In a magazine! Granted its a small town magazine but still!!
2. The band Passion Pit. Y'all know I'm a music junkie and that I have a pretty eclectic taste in music! I listen to just about ANYTHING and right now I am hooked on Passion Pit! I could listen to these guys ALL day long! They currently have a hit on our local alternative station titled "Take a Walk" but I suggest downloading "Moth's Wings" {my favorite} and "Sleepy Head" too! I promise you wont be disappointed!
3. Fifty Shades of EVERYTHING! Holy Moly what a great read! I started the first book last Wednesday night and finished the third one yesterday on my lunch break! I haven't been that engrossed in a book since Twilight! Ridiculously intriguing! I can't seem to wrap my mind around the obsession we ladies have over it! Is it the want to have a "dark" side? A need to take care and love someone who is broken? The yearning for complete abandon passion? Seriously what is it?! I have yet to truly figure it out for myself! All I knows is after closing the third book I felt sad! I felt like I said goodbye to close friends that I won't see again {until the movie comes out}! Speaking of, when thinking of Ana and Christian, I like so many others have to "cast" the characters to visualize them! This is my Ana and Christian:
4. Booking our Love Photo Session for our Charleston Anni-moon! After searching and inquiring with a ton of talented photographers in Charleston and the surrounding area, we finally booked the photographer of our choice! My first choice is going to be away on vacation during our time there but she recommended her second shooter! Hello Dana Cubbage Photography! She specializes in pet photography but started doing weddings and engagements this year! She is working on building her portfolio and we couldn't be more excited to help her do that! I just wish we could take Baby Reef and get some sweet shots of him being his little puppy self!!
5. Finding out what my anniversary gift is! The hubby finally had/decided to let me in on his little anniversary secret! I was pretty accurate in what I thought it was! Sooo let the SUV searching begin! So many decisions to make! The one thing I know for sure, it has to be black! And while I have my hopes set high for a Volvo XC60 or XC90, I'm not discounting other makes and models! Bring on the test drives!!
Hope you all are have a fantastic "Hump" Day! It's quite rainy here but considering I've been in a stellar mood here lately at work, I'm not letting a little rain ruin my day!!
XoXo,

My Hair Routine - Straight Biz!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend and took a few moments to really reflect on why we have such a weekend!
I get asked a lot about what products I use on my hair, especially when I straighten it! I figured I would share my straightening hair routine with yall on this lovely Tuesday!!
I get asked a lot about what products I use on my hair, especially when I straighten it! I figured I would share my straightening hair routine with yall on this lovely Tuesday!!
To start, I wash my hair with Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky 2 +1 Shampoo and Conditioner. I don’t use this for “flakes” I just find that it keeps my scalp healthy and my products from building up!
I then condition my hair with Suave Keratin Infusion Smoothing Conditioner. I really am not picky about my conditioner. I usually pick up one that hydrates, smoothes, or both.
Once I’m out of the shower, I towel dry my hair, brush through it and spray Aussie Aussome Volume Spray Gel onto my roots. Then I spray TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray all over from root to ends.
When blow drying I usually flip my head over until it is pretty much dry and once it is about 95% done I flip back over and use a large paddle brush to smooth it out. After that I just section my hair and run my flat iron through each piece until straight.
This whole process takes about 30 – 45 minutes {One of the BIGGEST reasons why I only wash my hair twice a week}. Regardless of the time I’m really glad I have finally found hair products {that are inexpensive} that allow me to style my hair the way I want. I really believe a huge part of it is the shampoo! It helps the smoothing and straightening of my hair when blow drying and keeps it from becoming frizzy!
Hope you darlings are having a lovely 4 day week so far!! Come visit tomorrow for What I'm Loving Wednesday!!

Happy Monday - Happy Holiday!
I realized I failed to write a post on Friday! Oops! I spent Friday morning at the vet office with Baby Reef! We had another spell of poo accidents in the kitchen and throwing up the night before! I decided to take him to a new vet considering the old one made me feel like they were just looking for a check AND didn't seem to know what they were ever doing! Too many mix ups with the receptionists, paying $55 for a vet exam when he NEVER even laid a hand on my baby, and then pulling out a text book to point out what the problem may be but never diagnosing him, even with all the tests they ran! I like the new vet and they seemed more than concerned about his issues. We weren't able to find out the exact problem, but they tried and are still trying! We should hear more later this week!
After deciding to stay home with him from work, I went and picked up Fifty Shades Darker to read while being home! Needless to say I got caught up in the insane world of Christian and Ana that I totally forgot to post a blog! I'm currently reading the last book but decided to put it aside for a bit for my readers and my house {it needs a good cleaning}. Hopefully I can get around to vacuuming and such today considering I think I may have strep throat! Seriously?! So not okay with not feeling well as my throat is on fire and the only thing that relieves the pain is coffee, tea, and soup! I can't stand being sick!
I hope all of you are having a lovely holiday today and had an amazing holiday weekend! We beached it up with our pals the Soon-to-be-Hills and their precious baby girl, Ruby! She even sported the ruffled bathing suit I gave her for her one year birthday!! She is such a little beach baby! We headed to the beach rather early and figured she probably wouldn't last too long! Boy were we all wrong! That child is a trooper! She played in the sand, taking face plant after face plant, and even eating mouthfuls of it! A little sand never hurt anyone right?! She took a nap under the shade of the umbrella, woke up well rested, and played even harder! We spent about 6 hours on the beach soaking up the rays and I've got the tan lines and red shoulders to prove it!
After the beach, the hubby and I headed to my in-laws to have a nice dinner with the family and some of their friends! Great food as always and wonderful conversations! I even got the hubby's Aunt to start reading Fifty Shades! She stopped by our house after the dinner to pick up the first book! I have yet to chat with her about it but her husband was more than eager for her to start reading it!
As I relax today I can't help but think about all of those who gave their lives for us to have our freedoms! As they say, Freedom isn't Free and someone had to pay the price for us! Thank-you to our soldiers, veterans, and emergency service personnel. Without you and your sacrifice, we would not be able to live these amazing lives we have been given! It brings tears to my eyes just thinking of those sacrifices! I am so humbled and thankful!!!
Hope you darlings are having the most amazing Monday! I am off to tackle this large task of cleaning! Lord knows this house needs it! Luckily I don't feel too bad being stuck inside since it's cloudy out! At least I know I'm not missing too much fun!!!

50 Shades of Mint
Like the title?! I find it humorous considering I finally succumbed to 50 Shades of Grey! All I can say is wow!!
Since I do not currently have my nose stuck in the book trying to figure out all this intensity that is Ana and Christian, I’ve been obsessing over the color Mint! Oh this color is to die for and I can’t wait to pick up a few pieces for my wardrobe! Maybe even something for our Anniversary photo session in Charleston!!
Enjoy Lovlies!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday Lovlies!!! Here is what I'm loving today!!!
2. Baby Reef consoling me. I had a very emotional day Monday that eventually sent me into a sobbing mess that evening. I blame it all on PMS but I also blame it on personal insecurities and the fact that my feelings can become hurt very easily. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I love others so much that sometimes I feel like I am not loved much in return. It can make my heart hurt at times. As I sat on the couch crying to my wonderful hubby who just held me in his embrace, Baby Reef woke up from a small nap, walked over and laid his sweet little head on my lap! It sent me into even more of a sobbing mess! The fact that he knew I was upset and wanted to console me made my heart dance! I couldn’t help but dry my tears and snuggle with my sweet boys who do a great job at making me feel better when I am down on myself!
3. Books. I love books. REAL BONDED BOOKS, with paper pages and pretty covers! I’ll probably never have a kindle because I can’t fathom having to read a book on an electronic device. I like to hold a book and smell it and flip the pages. Call me old-school if you will, I think I just have an old soul. I have always loved books since I was a child! Dr. Seuss, American Girl Collection, Goosebumps, Sweet Valley Kids, Middle and High, The Babysitter’s Club, as well as a ton of others. Reading has always been a huge part of my life! Sometimes I wonder if I should’ve been a book editor or publisher! What an awesome jobs they would be! I’m currently reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest and I am desperately trying to finish it so I can start a new trilogy {50 shades obviously}! I finally reached the last chapter last night but could not hold my eyes open much longer. The plan is to go pick of 50 Shades of Grey on my lunch break today and finish the last chapter of my current book this evening!
4. Memorial Day. Woooohooo! I can’t wait to have Monday off!! My company has not had a holiday since President’s Day which was over three months ago! Sometimes I just need a day away from this desk, these computers, these files, and these folks! Work buddies quickly become like family and like family sometimes you just need a break! Not to mention I just need my brain to rest and not have to think about Notes, Deeds of Trusts, Final Applications, Tax Returns, and so forth that I deal with every day! We don’t have any crazy plans for the holiday as the hubby does have to work that Monday! I have a feeling it may turn into a little shopping day with my momma in hopes of finding some new clothing items for our anniversary trip to Charleston! A beach day will probably be thrown in there for the weekend too!
5. Taylor Armstrong Tweeted me! Yes, that’s right, Taylor Armstrong from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills tweeted me this morning! She is currently on her way to Virginia Beach for a charity event tomorrow being held at The Samaritan House. I wish I would have known about this sooner because I would have definitely gone, but after looking up the event I learned it was sold out! Anywho, I hope she has a wonderful time while she is here and really educates those who are attending and gives them inspiration!
If you're on Twitter, follow me @LAHisFabulous
I'm currently having a very frustrating day at work since our internet connection is down and that is pretty much 98% of what I use to help finalize shipments of closed loans! Needless to say I need that Memorial Holiday NOW!!! Hope y'all are having a better Wednesday than I! Much love and see y'all tomorrow!!!

Sausage Pepper Alfredo Recipe
Happy Tuesday!!! Hope y'all are having a wonderful day so far!! I’ve decided I want to share a recipe that I actually created myself! On a whim and kind of by accident. It has quickly climbed to the number 2 spot on my hubby’s favorite home cooked meals list! My meatloaf is his number 1!
Please forgive me as I did not take any photos of the meal! Regardless, it’s darn yummy!
What you will need for:
3 Johnsonville Chorizo Sausage Links
7 oz. dry pasta {doesn’t matter what kind, I use whole wheat of whatever is on hand, penne, rotini, etc.}
1 whole green bell pepper {sliced}
1 whole red bell pepper {sliced}
½ of an onion sliced
Sauce:
4 oz. cream cheese {I use fat free cream cheese in the block form}
¼ cup of milk {I use Organic Skim Milk}
1 tbsp. butter
Cut the casing off of the 3 sausage links and crumble sausage into pan. Cook until done.
While sausage is cooking, saute peppers and onions in separate pan. Also began to cook your pasta. Pasta should be done in about 10 minutes. Once peppers, onions and sausage are finished cooking combine into one pan.
While pasta is cooking mix, cream cheese, butter, and milk into a saute pan. Stir continuously until fully melted and it becomes a creamy sauce. Turn heat on low and let simmer. Be careful not to let it burn.
Once pasta is done, drain and add to pan with the sausage, peppers, and onions. Mix pasta and other ingredients together. Once mixed well, pour your cream cheese sauce over pasta. Mix all together to make sure everything is coated with the sauce.
Serves 4.
ENJOY!!!
I’ve been religiously using My Fitness Pal and was able to log in this recipe with the ingredients I use and found that it was only 349 calories per serving. I don’t really know “how much” was on my plate. I just split the sauce pan into 4’s and scooped out ¼ of it! I’d say it was probably a cup ½ .
If anyone tries this recipe please share with me how you like it and if you think it is horrible, I apologize in advance! We just happen to be HUGE fans of it!!! See y'all tomorrow for WILW!!!

Going to the Chapel!
Today someone very important and close to me is getting hitched!!! Congratulations to my Nana and her new husband George!!! I am beyond thrilled that my Nana has found someone that makes her so incredibly happy! I hope he realizes how lucky of a man he is and that no one can make a sandwhich, broccoli and cheese casserole or potato salad like she can!!!
They will be saying “I Do” at the courts in downtown Portsmouth! Nana said she will be decked out in lace and pearls! While it is small and intimate for the two of them, I can’t help but be a little sad that she didn’t want more of a celebration! No photographer, No dinner, No witnesses {family}! I hope she knows we will be thinking of her constantly today and wishing them both nothing but the best!
Hopefully she will change her mind about a celebratory dinner! Just because this is her 2nd time “down the aisle” doesn’t mean it should go unnoticed!!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pritchard! I hope today is beyond special for y'all!!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ninety percent of ours was spent being crazy lazy! That could have had something to do with the dreary weather yesterday!!! See you sweet lovlies tomorrow!!!

Anni-moon Here We Come!!
Ive always wanted to visit Charleston, SC! I blogged about it here a few months ago! Well lovely readers, I am finally getting to visit the most gorgeous city {that I’ve seen on-line and in magazines}! The hubby and I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary in this amazingly historic city! I can’t wait!
Historic tours, shopping, beer/wine tastings, southern food, ahhh bring it all on!!! Possibly even a photo shoot with a local photographer to capture our first anniversary and to document our travels! We can’t thank my hubby’s step-father and mom enough for allowing us to use their rewards points to book our stay! It has saved us an incredibly large amount of money that we can now put towards other anni-moon adventures!
If any of you southern SC ladies know of ANY fabulous local Charleston photographers please let me know!!! I really think it would be fun to have a little love photo session while we are there!
Can’t wait to check in at the Embassy Suites Charleston in Historic Charleston on June 9th!!
Hope everyone enjoyed Tiffany from Blabbering Thoughts yesterday!! I'm pretty positive our next get-a-way will have to be California!
Hope you all are having a fabulous Friday so far!!! Any awesome plans for the weekend?! You know I love to hear what everyone is doing!!! See y'all Monday!!

Midwest girl gone West Coast
Midwest girl gone West Coast
When I say Midwest what do you think of? Do you think Indiana? I am guessing no. I am not quite sure why Indiana is considered the "midwest" but I like it. Now that you know I am from Indiana I bet you are wondering where I live now... I live in California.. You know that over glorified state that is beautiful but yet in debt up to their ears? Yeah that place.. I live there. But I don't live on the "coast" I live in the valley.
I come from a cornfield.. Seriously, I grew up in a cornfield... Okay I am joking but I lived next to like 5 cornfields. I love when people I meet out here ask where I am from & I say.. Indiana.. And they give me this blank stare like.. Right.. I do not know where that is.. Somewhere East. You know a lot of Californians consider Indiana East Coast? I am like whoa did you not have geography in 5th grade? Because I did. Anyway - No one knows anything about Indiana except it snows. Yes, it does.. In the winter time but in the summer time it doesn't. It's scorching & it's humid. I love Indiana. I love being a Hoosier. I love being Red & White. I love Indy Car. This sign is who I am.. Or at this point who I was.
But now, I am apart of California. I've been here for 2 whole years. Say whaaaa?
I never thought California would be my home. When I grew up.. In the 3rd grade I requested a newspaper from Long Beach, California.. Little did I know I'd live in California but definitely not in an overpriced crowded city. I am very bitter towards the big cities. Of course they've got great views, but the weather. It sucks. I mean I like to be on fire in the summer time. Plus all those coastal cities are soooooo traffic-y. I want to punch myself in the face every time I get on one of their highways.
OKAY but this post is about me moving west & instead I am just rambling. I moved west 2 years ago with my daughter to be with her daddy. He is an air traffic controller & Fresno, California is where he got placed I guess you could say. So now we are here. At first the city is blah, it's a new town.. Don't know a lot of people. It's hard.
I am slowly meeting people. I miss my family like crazy but it made me grow as a person & it helped our family tremendously.
So here is my point.. You need to visit California. Not just for the LA/Hollywood/Disneyland/San Diego/San Francisco.. There are other places here you know.
You need to see Yosemite. I am not a nature girl but I love me some mountains. Breathtaking.
You need to drive down Highway 1 to Big Sur. Did I say breathtaking already? Okay, these views are impeccable.
I.am.never.leaving.this.place.
Plus did I mention that Vegas is just a short trip away. Yeah Vegas. I don't like to party... I don't like to gamble.. But this place is BOMB. Just saying.
Now - My next mission getting Lauran little miss south east girl & her man to come visit me :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday!
First off I can't thank you sweet gals enough for the comments on yesterday's post and the Facebook comments I received as well!!! I will definitely be looking into many of the options y'all have suggested! Secondly, is it really Wednesday already?! Why yes, yes it is!! Here is what I'm loving:
1. Blanco Xoco White Wine!! My darling friend Tatiana bought this for me at the wine fest Saturday {Sadly we weren't able to make it - sigh}. This is the best dessert wine that has ever hit my lips! It tastes exactly like WHITE CHOCOLATE!! In all seriousness it is to die for and I can't wait to pair it with something like cheesecake!!
2. Thunderstorms! I love love love love love love love love thunderstorms. I'm not sure when exactly my love for them developed but I can't remember ever not liking them! We've had quite a few pass through in the last 2 days and while the rain causes issues {because apparently people around here have NO idea how to maneuver a car in it} the lighting strikes and claps of thunder are welcome! For some reason, and I'm not sure if its the area location we live in, thunderstorms seem to bypass us a lot. I can hear them and see them to the south but they never seem to go right over top of us! Therefore when one does, I thoroughly enjoy it!
3. Tuesday evening snuggles with Baby Reef. As I was sitting on the couch after dinner catching up with the hubby, Baby Reef decided to jump up and join us. For some reason he felt the need to sit right in my lap and rub his head under my hands! He was telling me he wanted some belly rubs!! I love our snuggle time and think it's the sweetest thing when he willingly snuggles me like that!
4. My lunch date yesterday with Mrs. Brandi and her new Baby Brooklyn! {Check out Brandi's journey through mother hood at Pigtails and Pacifiers}. I haven't seen Brandi in about a year and a half. In that time frame she has tied the knot, I have tied the knot, and she has had a beautiful baby girl! We met yesterday for lunch and I got to meet lil Miss BK for the first time! What a little ham!!! She has the smallest little fingers and the biggest hairbows and I could have literally eaten her up! It was so nice to catch up with an old friend and hear about this new life she is now living! It's amazing how priorities can change drastically in just a year and a half! I couldn't be more happy for her and her little family! We've already been discussing another get together but this time over dinner because a one hour lunch break just wasn't enough time!
5. Having NO PLANS in the books for this weekend! I have no doubt that something will come up that we will end up participating in, but for now looking at my calendar is making me one happy gal! I feel like we have constantly been on the go so to have a relaxing weekend with nothing that we HAVE to do will be more than appreciated! Of course there are some little things here and there I'd like to get accomplished {as in buying a new bed frame} and I am sure we will, but for now I'm just going to bask in the glow {on my Iphone} of the two empty days on my calendar!
I hope you all are having a wonderful "Hump Day"!!! Come visit tomorrow! I have a new guest blogger who I would love for you all to get to know! She is married, a momma to two precious babes, and a hard working gal!
XoXo,
